Cossy — Terms of Service (EULA)
Last updated: 2026-09-12
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and nstudio, Hungary ("nstudio", "we", "us"), the operator of Cossy, a social app for the cosplay community ("Cossy" or the "Service"). These Terms are also the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for the Cossy app. Please read them carefully.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Objectionable content is removed, and users who post it or abuse others are suspended or permanently banned.
1. Accepting these Terms
By creating an account, or by downloading, accessing or using Cossy, you agree to these Terms and to our Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. If you do not agree, do not use Cossy.
2. Who can use Cossy
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Cossy.
- If you are under the age at which you can legally agree to these Terms or consent to the processing of your personal data in your country (for example, 16 in Hungary and some other EU countries), you may use Cossy only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian where local law requires it. Your parent or guardian then accepts these Terms on your behalf.
- You may not use Cossy if we have previously banned you, or if the law prohibits you from using it.
- We remove accounts that we find belong to children under 13.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login details secure and do not share them. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
- One account belongs to one person. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not sell, transfer or lend your account.
4. Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Cossy app on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
You must not copy, modify, sell or distribute the app; reverse engineer it (except where the law allows this); scrape or harvest data from the Service; interfere with its security or operation; or access it through automated means we have not authorised.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership. Everything you post or send on Cossy, such as photos, posts, comments, messages, project tracker entries and profile details ("your content"), remains yours.
- Licence to us. You grant nstudio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical purposes (for example, resizing or compressing images), display and distribute your content within the Service, solely to operate, provide and improve Cossy.
- When the licence ends. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept in backups for a limited period, content we must keep to comply with the law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims (including moderation records), and content that others have already received, such as messages sent to them.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the rights needed to post it, including permission from photographers and from other people shown in it where required, and that it complies with these Terms and the Community Guidelines.
6. No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
This is a core condition of using Cossy. You must not post, send or share content, or behave in a way, that includes:
- Nudity, pornography or sexually explicit content. Suggestive cosplay is fine; explicit content is not.
- Any sexualisation, exploitation or endangerment of minors. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities; see our Child Safety Standards.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, doxxing (sharing someone's private information), or sexualising or demeaning cosplayers. Cosplay is not consent.
- Hate speech, slurs, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or other protected characteristics.
- Graphic violence or gore, content that promotes self-harm, suicide or terrorism, and credible threats of violence.
- Illegal content or activity, including the sale of illegal or regulated goods.
- Spam, scams, fake giveaways, off-platform payment bait, or manipulating likes, follows or awards.
- Impersonation, deliberately misleading content, or AI-generated images that are not clearly labelled as AI.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, including reposting others' photos without permission.
- Malware, hacking, circumventing our safety features, or creating new accounts to evade a ban.
Our Community Guidelines describe these rules in more detail. Breaking them leads to removal of the content and can lead to immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account, without prior warning.
7. Moderation and enforcement
- We screen content automatically, using text and image filters, and our moderators review content by hand.
- Content flagged by our filters may be held for review before it becomes visible. You will see it as pending, and content that turns out to be fine is released.
- We may remove or restrict content, and warn, suspend or permanently terminate accounts that break these Terms or the Community Guidelines. Where the law requires it, we report content to the authorities.
- Where the law requires it (for example, under the EU Digital Services Act), we tell you why we took action and how you can challenge the decision. You can appeal any decision by replying to the moderation notice or by emailing [email protected].
8. Reporting and blocking
- Report: Use the ⋯ / Report option on any post, profile or message to report objectionable content or abusive users. You can also email us.
- Human review: Every report is reviewed by a person. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, removing the content and suspending or removing the user who posted it where it breaks our rules.
- Block: You can block any user. Blocking takes effect immediately: you no longer see their posts and they cannot message you.
9. Copyright and takedown
Respect other people's intellectual property. If you believe content on Cossy infringes your copyright, send us a notice as described in our Copyright & Takedown Policy. We remove infringing material when we receive a valid notice, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
10. Virtual items (Coins, awards and cosmetic items)
Cossy may offer virtual items, such as Coins, awards you can give to other users' posts, and cosmetic items for your profile. We grant you a limited, personal and revocable licence to use them within the Service. Virtual items:
- have no cash or monetary value, and are not your property;
- cannot be exchanged or redeemed for money, real goods or anything of value outside Cossy;
- cannot be transferred, sold or traded, including between accounts;
- are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires a refund.
Awards are a way to show appreciation. They are not payments, and they cannot be converted into money by the person who receives them. We may change or discontinue virtual items. Unused virtual items are lost if you delete your account or if we terminate it for breaking these Terms, unless the law requires otherwise.
11. Purchases and subscriptions
- Coins and the Premium subscription are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payments are processed by Apple or Google under their terms and policies; we never receive or store your payment card details.
- Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the price then in effect, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The charge is made to your App Store or Google Play account.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your store account settings: on iPhone or iPad, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; on Android, open the Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Cossy account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
12. AI features
Cossy offers optional AI features, such as cosplay suggestions, powered by a third-party AI model (Anthropic's Claude).
- Suggestions are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable. They are not professional advice. Use your own judgement, especially about materials, tools and safety.
- You are responsible for anything you post, including content based on AI suggestions. It must follow these Terms and the Community Guidelines.
- Do not submit other people's personal data or prohibited content to AI features.
- How data is processed for AI features is described in our Privacy Policy. We may change, limit or discontinue AI features at any time.
13. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: go to Profile → ☰ → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, request deletion on our account deletion page. You can also ask us to delete specific personal data on the data deletion page.
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, posts and photos, as described in our Privacy Policy. It does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel that separately in your store account settings.
14. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Cossy at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if the law requires us to, or if it is necessary to protect other users, us or third parties. In serious cases we may do so immediately and without prior notice. We may also discontinue the Service, in which case we will give reasonable notice where possible.
The sections on your content, virtual items, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law continue to apply after termination, to the extent relevant.
15. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Cossy is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. Content posted by users is the responsibility of the users who post it, and we do not endorse it. We are not a party to arrangements between users, such as commissions, trades or in-person meetups; please take care when meeting people in person.
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have mandatory statutory rights, including the legal guarantee that digital content and services conform to the contract. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
16. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, nstudio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data, profits or goodwill, or for content or conduct of other users.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury, for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, excluding their conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Hungary have jurisdiction over disputes. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
18. Apple App Store additional terms
If you downloaded Cossy from the Apple App Store, the following terms also apply:
- Parties. These Terms are an agreement between you and nstudio only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). nstudio, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Cossy app and its content.
- Scope of licence. Your licence to use the app is a non-transferable licence to use it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may also be used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and support. nstudio is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app, as described in these Terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide maintenance or support services for the app.
- Warranty. nstudio is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they have not been effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to a warranty are nstudio's sole responsibility.
- Product claims. nstudio, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app, or your possession and use of it, infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, nstudio, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as your mobile data service agreement.
- Contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to nstudio (Nagy Tamás), 2360 Gyál, Petőfi Sándor utca 91., Hungary, at [email protected].
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the Last updated date above. We will notify you in the app before material changes take effect, where reasonably possible. If you keep using Cossy after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Cossy and delete your account.
20. General
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with the Community Guidelines and the documents they refer to, are the entire agreement between you and nstudio about Cossy.
21. Contact
