Cossy — Community Guidelines

Last updated: 2026-09-12

Cossy is a home for cosplayers of every level. Keep it safe, credited and kind.

These guidelines apply to everything on Cossy: posts, comments, profiles, direct and group messages, events and every other interaction. They are part of our Terms of Service.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

Age

You must be 13 or older to use Cossy. Where local law requires it, younger teens need the consent of a parent or guardian.

What's welcome

Cosplay photos and videos, works in progress, tutorials, event posts, questions, talk about commissions, and celebrating each other's craft.

Content rules

  • 1. Suggestive is OK, explicit is not. Cosplay often involves revealing outfits, and that's fine. No nudity, no sexually explicit content, and no fetish content presented as such.
  • 2. Minors are protected absolutely. No sexualised content involving anyone under 18, whether depicted, implied or in comments. Zero tolerance: immediate ban, and we report it to the authorities where required. See our Child Safety Standards.
  • 3. No harassment. No hate speech, slurs, threats, doxxing or pile-ons. Cosplay is not consent: do not sexualise or demean cosplayers in comments or messages.
  • 4. Post your own work; credit others. Tag the cosplayer, costume maker and photographer when they aren't you. Don't repost other people's photos without permission.
  • 5. Label AI-generated images. AI art and AI "cosplay" images must be clearly labelled as AI. Unlabelled AI content will be removed.
  • 6. No spam or scams. No fake giveaways, follow-for-follow schemes or off-platform payment bait.
  • 7. Respect intellectual property. Cosplay itself is fan expression. Don't upload official art, full manga pages or other people's copyrighted media as your own content. Rights holders can use our takedown process.

Enforcement

Content that trips our automated text and image screening is held for human review. You'll see it as pending; it is not a shadow-ban, and honest mistakes are simply released.

Depending on how serious a violation is, we remove the content, issue a warning, or suspend or terminate the account. The most serious violations, such as any sexualisation of minors or credible threats of violence, lead to an immediate permanent ban and, where required, a report to the authorities.

How to report

  • Tap ⋯ → Report on any post, profile or message.
  • Choose a reason, add any details that help us understand the problem, and submit.
  • You can also email us at [email protected]. Please include links or screenshots and the username involved.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

How to block

Tap ⋯ → Block on a user's post or profile. Blocking is always available and takes effect immediately for you: you no longer see their posts, and they can't message you.

What happens after a report

  • Every report is reviewed by a human moderator.
  • We aim to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours.
  • If the content breaks these guidelines, we remove it and take action against the account that posted it, up to a permanent ban.
  • The user whose content was actioned receives a moderation notice explaining the decision.

Appeals

If you think we got a decision wrong, you can appeal it: reply to the moderation notice, or email [email protected] with your username and the content concerned. A person will review your appeal, and if we made a mistake we will restore your content or account.
