Custom plugin, or an existing one?
An existing, maintained plugin plus configuration is cheaper when it covers the job. Our WordPress plugin turns paid Amelia bookings into Számlázz.hu invoices, without WooCommerce. It creates cancellation and deposit invoices, retries failed requests and keeps an invoice log in the WordPress admin. It runs live on a client site.

When no maintained plugin covers your process, or covering it would take several plugins chained together. If an existing plugin does the job with configuration, that is cheaper, and the written plan says so.
Who owns the source code?
You do. The source code goes into your own repository, with documentation, so you or another developer can maintain it later.
What happens after a WordPress update?
The plugin has to keep working on new WordPress and PHP versions: WordPress 7.1.3 came out on 6 October 2026, and only the latest 7.1 branch is actively maintained.5 We test on the current versions before handover, and the written quote states who updates the plugin afterwards.
Can the plugin be extended later?
