Hanamaru — Delete your account or data

In the app (fastest)

• If you have an account: open Settings › Account › Delete account and confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
• As a guest (no account): your learning progress is only on your device. Settings › Reset progress erases it, and uninstalling the app deletes everything the app stored.

Without the app: request deletion by email

Write to [email protected] with the subject "Delete my Hanamaru account".

• Account: send the email from the email address you use to sign in to Hanamaru (or that your Google account uses), so we can check that the account is yours. If you can no longer use that address, tell us and we will agree another way to confirm it's you.
• Guest ID: if you used the app without an account but sent a mistake report or opened Hanamaru Plus, our server holds a random guest ID. Attach the file from Settings › Export my data, which contains that ID, so we can find and delete it.

We may reply once to confirm the request came from you. We delete the account within 30 days of confirming, and tell you by email when it is done.

What is deleted

• Your account and its sign-in methods (email, Google).
• Your profile and settings, your learning progress and its full history, your notes and lists, and your consent records.
• Your subscription status on our server and your customer record at RevenueCat, our purchase service.
• For a guest ID: the ID and the records linked to it.

What is kept, and for how long

• Mistake reports: kept without any link to you, because they help keep the content accurate.
• Deletion record: a record with scrambled identifiers and the date, kept for 24 months to show the deletion was done. It cannot be read back as your email or account ID.
• Server backups: deleted data disappears from our database backups within 30 days.
• Purchases: Google Play and the App Store keep their own purchase records under their policies.

Hanamaru Plus is not cancelled automatically

Deleting your account or data does not cancel a Hanamaru Plus subscription. Cancel it first in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions (or in your App Store settings), or you will keep being charged.
